November 2011 - Winter Fair

An unusually warm winter fair with sun streaming through the church windows. Raffles, beverages, bri-a-brac, books, balloons and plenty of scrumptious home-made food.

November 2011 - Licensing of Fr Mark Budden

The licensing of Fr Mark Budden by the Archdeacon was celebrated in the traditional St Matthew's style with a fine spread of food and refreshments for all.

October 2011 - Harvest Supper

Another excellent Harvest Supper: great food, lively entertainment and a full house! Thanks to all those who helped.

October 2011 - Harvest Festival

We celebrated Harvest Festival and welcomed the Scouts for their Church Parade. Afterwards refreshments were accompanied by a traditional harvest loaf.

June 2011 - Blessing of the Vicarage

The rain held off, the sun came out and Mthr Helen blessed the re-vamped Vicarage. We all enjoyed tea and cakes and were most entertained by how many people it took to put up the mini trampoline.

May 2011 - Church Fair

Sunshine and smiles all round: tasty Korean dishes, traditional Ploughman's lunches, homemade cakes, refreshments, book stalls, bric-a-brac, toys, plants and ballet performances.

April 2011 - Revd Dr Helen Orchard's Licensing

A warm welcome to Revd Dr Helen Orchard! Thank you to everyone who helped to make it such a memorable evening.

March 2011 - Handel's Israel in Egypt at St Matthew's Church

A wonderful performance from the Ariel Consort of London under their Director Douglas Lee. The concert was organised in aid of the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity and St Matthew's Church. A big thank you to everyone who helped to make it such an enjoyable evening.

October 2010 - Harvest Festival Supper

Another splendid Harvest Festival Supper: spicy butternut squash soup, shepherds pie and apple crumble. Thanks to all who helped, espcially Janet, the ladies in the kitchen and the children who did a fantasic job selling raffle tickets, serving food and clearing plates.

October 2010 - Fr Stuart's Last Mass

At Fr Stuart's last mass we celebrated Harvest Festival. We welcomed the Scouts along with visitors saying farewell to Fr Stuart.

September 2010 - Fr Stuart's Leaving Party

Fr Stuart's leaving party was the social event of the year: great food (superb frittatas in all shapes and sizes), a fabulous cake, a lively band, presentations and fond farewells.

July 2010 - Tea At The Vicarage

Another wonderful tea party at the Vicarage with home-baked scones and a variety of other very tempting cakes. The children enjoyed running around and jumping off the slide. A wonderful time was had by all. Thank you to everyone who helped set up, bake, make tea and clear away.

August 2009 - Tea At The Vicarage

Another splendid tea party at the Vicarage with home-baked scones, clotted cream and jam. The children enjoyed making their own gingerbread men and played croquet on the lawn. A wonderful time was had by all.

July 2009 - Walk to Southwark Cathedral

A group of young people from St Matthew's Church walked the 11 miles to Southwark in about 5.5 hours, stopping for lunch on Clapham Common.
